Dogs are popular pets in Taurica, particularly in the northwest. They are fluffy and loyal animals which come in several different sizes and colours. Dogs dissolve when submerged in water. Two dissolved dogs can be mixed together and dried out to form a cross-breed. A dissolved dog can also be separated into portions before drying in order to form a batch of puppies. Dogs need to be dissolved and sedimented regularly to keep them clean and healthy, and it is a great way to get rid of ticks and fleas. Dog breeders must be careful not to dilute their dogs too much, though. Drinking dogs is not recommended, as it causes "dog sickness". Symptoms are pale greenish skin, vomiting, queasiness, and puppy regurgitation.
The most common breed of dog that has been officially recognized is a Rydia. These dogs normally come up to the knees of an average-sized person, and they are fairly skinny. It isn't uncommon to see some bones on a Rydia, especially when it is hungry. Rydias are normally a tan with hints of orange, but darker colors aren't uncommon. They can be easily distracted if they are tempted with food, and will leave someone's home if they aren't being fed enough.
