The Red Monks are a religious sect who worship Djakron, an Otherworldian deity, not to be confused with the planet. They reside in the Red Monastery, also known as the Monastery of Djakron. The monks are humans, but as part of their dedication to Djakron, they gradually tattoo their entire bodies bright red. When people get severe sunburn, others often joke that they have "joined the Monastery of Djakron".
The Red Monks are known for their pious dedication to charity and protection of the innocent.
The Red Monastery is located close to the eastern end of the Dreaded Chasm, between the Great Elder Wilderness and Grimleaf Forest. The Red Monks are one of the few groups who are aware of the existence of The Monster Unknown to Humanity, and they do their best to prevent the Grim Hags from ever releasing it.
